Exam Time!

Hello people! All good? As I can see, the ‘Exam Season’ is here and everyone’s too stressed out with studies, Firefly is here to lighten up the mood! Here’s a ‘Hinglish’ poem for you all, that I wrote back in 2011. I tried to recreate it with a punch of doodles in between. Have a look! 😀

जब आता है time for exam,
Students के mind हो जाते हैं jam!

Exam को लेकर बढ़ जाता है tension,
सब छोड़-छाड़ कर देते हैं पढ़ाई पर attention.

हरदम अंतिम समय पर ही दिमाग का करें use,
Exam में पहुंचते ही उड़ जाते हैं सबके fuse.

पेपर देखकर हो जाता है सबका बुरा हाल,
हर question लगता है ज़िंदगी मौत का सवाल।

डर के घने बादल जब सर पर छा जाएं,
Students feel कि अब तो do or die.

आस पास की copies पर एक नज़र घुमाएं,
Heart break हो जाए जब कोई answers ना बताए।

हो जाए brain shake जब ध्यान watch पर जाए,
सब कुछ भूल अपनी तुक्केबाज़ी को अपनाए।

दिल पर हाथ रख कर कहे All is well,
और start कर दे लिखना, just like hell.

जैसे-तैसे जब पेपर finally खत्म हो जाए,
तब जाकर हौले से वो थोड़ा मुस्कुराए।

डांट के डर को दिल में दबाए,
Exam hall से जब बाहर वो आए।

Friends को देख हो जाए cool and calm,
सभी से कहे Afterall, it’s just an exam!

पर डरते डरते जब घर वो आए,
पापा के गुस्से का sample वो पाए।

रोते-रोते यूं ही दिन बीत जाएं,
But पढ़ाई की importance समझ ना आए।

Result में जब वो by chance पास हो जाए,
धरती पर सबसे lucky खुद को वो पाए।

सिर पर से जब exam का भूत उतर जाए,
पूरे semester वह books को हाथ भी ना लगाए।

हमेशा end time पर ही books की याद आए,
फिर वो exams की टेंशन लेकर बैठ जाए।

आखिर यही है students की दुख भरी कथा,
और इनको पढ़ाई की importance
समझा पाना है teachers की व्यथा!
